Full-text search was
founded to reach to the required information by different means such as
using synonym words, phrases, roots or looking for data by using exact words
match.
Microsoft provides indexing services to achieve all previous types of
search, and it provides specific component for each language to handle each
language specifications.
For non-supported languages Like Arabic language, Microsoft provides a
neutral component. In such case and with absence of the specific Microsoft
Arabic component .The Microsoft Indexing services and therefore (Full-Text
Search) become poor and insufficient .so Arabic language lost the major
features that the full-text search was founded for.
The drawbacks of using the current neutral component for Arabic language:
- Incapability for search
by inflectional forms of verbs and nouns.
- Incapability for search by phrase.
- Incapability for search by synonyms.
- Arabic date and time format are not recognized.
